Commitment lies at the heart of the Gospel. On the cross, Jesus committed His life to the Father’s plan to redeem and restore all people and creation. In response, followers of Jesus commit their lives to being instruments and agents of that same plan. At LINC Bay Area, we strive to identify, recruit, train, deploy, nurture, and empower local leaders who are committed to Jesus and His mission no matter the cost…leaders like Muluneh Taye.
After arriving in the U.S. from his home country of Ethiopia, Muluneh completed his undergraduate and graduate studies at local Bay Area universities. Today, Muluneh is Transportation Services Director at Stanford Health Care managing several hundred employees and a multi-million-dollar budget. Last year, Muluneh was named one of the top 40 transportation specialists under the age of 40 in the US.
But Muluneh’s gifts and commitment are not limited to his work.
Muluneh is a devoted husband to his wife Liya and father to his two children, Shalom Elroe. He is a diligent student studying to receive his Masters of Theology and Culture at Concordia Irvine, after which he will be certified and ordained into the pastoral ministry. Additionally, Muluneh is a dedicated leader at Addis Kidan Church in San Francisco serving as vicar (intern pastor) for the congregation located in one of the more culturally diverse areas of San Francisco. Together with Pastor Tesfai Tesema and others, Muluneh serves a growing Ethiopian congregation and is also working to start a new English speaking ministry in the neighborhood.
When asked how LINC Bay Area has influenced and encouraged his work, Muluneh was quick to mention:
1) Training and resources provided by LINC Bay Area
2) Prayer and fellowship support from LINC Director Aaron Putnam
3) Empowerment by the LINC core value that the Gospel is for all people
